- I lack specific details, but Brook's live one is I think on the label
- 4AD. He also appears on the majority of Jon Hassell releases I have,
- including at least one of the ones with Eno.
-
- I saw Michael Brook live about a week ago, opening for John Cale. It was
- a very interesting show and my first exposure to his solo work. I
- got to sit in the front row and even exchanged a small dialog with him -
- he said he was doing a piece for Kora and asked if anyone knew what a
- Kora was. I blurted out "It's a big gourd thing" and he said something
- like "we have a winner, down here in front, it's a *BIG GOURD THING*,
- which got a pretty hearty laugh from the audience. His set at times
- reminded me of ASHRA circa BLACKOUTS, and a wee bit of David Torn and
- Adrian Belew at times too. He joined Cale for a rendition of a track
- from the Cale/Eno lp WRONG WAY UP. Overall I was pretty interested in
- his playing and I'll definitely be checking out some of his work
- on cd soon.
