- My impression of Mandolin Brothers was the asking prices are
- high, by about 20% across the board, and I've been told that at this
- establishment you need to *seriously* dicker over price if you don't
- want to pay too much (boring, isn't it...)
-
- I have no idea of the reality of the pricing of their
- $8K or $10K old Martins, etc.
-
- As for the SCGC models: I like some of them, not all of them.
- I think one of the best I've seen is a Santa Cruz "H" that
- I played at Sylvan music, in (as it happens) Santa Cruz CA
- not long ago. The H is a smallbody, I'm not sure if it's
- as small as an OM though.
-
- (Mandolin also had some Collings guitars that were very very
- good...)
-
- A good Santa Cruz is a great guitar. Take a look though
- (shameless plug) at any of the Bozeman-made Gibson's before
- buying a new production guitar. They are surprisingly good.
