- |What could sound more boring than typical new age music? Boopsie, in the
- |Doonesbury strip, called it "air pudding", with which I totally agree. Ugh.
-
- So now we've gone from "new age" music to "typical" new age music. Since
- I don't know what you mean by "typical" newage music I'll just use what
- I have found in the newage bins at various stores and come up with some
- things I haven't found boring at all.
-
- David Lanz, "Skyline Firedance" - Lanz is newage in every sense of the
- word, even to the point of the preppy sweater over the shoulders look.
- Powerful solo piano work.
-
- Joaquin Lievano "One Mind", Zazen "Mystery School" - an electric guitarist
- with speed *and* emotion.
-
- Peter Seiler "Passage" - features Michael Lorenz on some pretty raunchy and
- innovative guitar work.
-
- David Arkenstone - his music takes you on a journey if you take the time
- to really listen to it.
-
- Vangelis, Jarre, Jade Warrior "Way of the Sun" - instrumental stuff that
- always holds my interest.
-
- Roberto Perera - combines jazz improvization, salsa and world beat sounds
- in a contempory fusion all on a paraguayan harp.
-
- There's many more if you choose not to dismiss an entire genre.
