- Well, the whole designation of New age Music has been a mystery to me.
- There was a book out a couple of years ago that listed "the top 500
- New Age Musicians in the country" (the book's quote) and to my surprise,
- I found our band listed in it as 'New Age Folk'.
- Now, I supposed we should be honored but it never occurred to us that
- anyone who has heard our music would classify it under any type of
- a 'New Age' category. (our band uses hammer dulcimers, bouzouki, guitar,
- harmonica, bass, saxophones, synths, etc.)
-
- So, I agree with some of the other posts that I've read that note the
- confusion between New Age Music and the New Age "Thinking". In any
- event, since we've always has trouble classifying our music, it doesn't
- surprise us that the term 'new age music' could be applied to newer
- forms of music that reviewers have trouble categorizing.
