- I read rec.music.classical quite regularly and my experience does not
- bare this out. There are postings from both new music supporters and
- detractors. Often the detractors are vehement and insistent, but they
- are also often outnumbered. I know many people who love new music without
- any vested interest (not composers, not performers specializing in it.)
- The numbers of such probably have more to say about the nature of life
- during late capitalism than anything intrinsic to aesthetics.
