  25. Two miscelanies here: Anybody know (of) any of her works? and
  26. on the other hand, I've met a couple of folks still living who studied
  27. with her (no names today but the initials WB and JC come to mind) who said
  28. that she was a meticulous teacher of theoretical exercises, but that they
  29. left her and went elsewhere to master composition.  I'm not entirely clear
  30. on the details, but then it seems to me that a composer like Copland could
  31. probably draw compositional nourishment from even a bad teacher... Same
  32. goes for Mr. Rorem.  So where does that leave us?  I'm going to teach you to
  33. go fishing.  I've never been fishing, I don't even like fishing, I'm a
  34. vegetarian, but if you pay me enough I'll teach you fishing...naw, I don't
  35. think you could pay me enough.  That'd take too much time away from composing.
