- I want to add a couple of wonderful Bernstein-conducted performances to
- seek out.
-
- 1. Haydn Masses "Paulenemasse" or "Mass in the Time of War"
- "Nelson Mass" and Symphony 88.
- - Some real lively performances of great pieces.
- On Sony mid-price - 2CDs (in this Prince of
- Wales set).
-
- 2. Milhaud - "La Creation du Monde", " 4 Brazilian Dances",
- "La Bouef sur le Toit". Really terrific performances of
- of some jazz/latin-inspired music. This CD is so much
- fun. Typically, I'm very pleased with Bernstein's
- performances of 20th Century dance music. He brings a
- a lively, rythhmic punch to this music.
