- Just a thought.
-
- Certain labels like Archiv, DG, to name two, include excellent
- historical material in their CD inserts on the composers. Others
- don't, although RCA and CBS seem to be improving. However, I am
- always frustrated by the fact that not much info is included about
- the performers or the orchestra. I have the whole set of 9 Beethoven
- symphonies by Roger Norrington and it has some info on him and his
- orchestra repeated in all of the CD's.
-
- Which labels include biographical info on the performers
- on a routine basis? Wouldn't it be nice if the material was
- pertinent to the performance itself? I have seen CD
- inserts regurgitating the same reviews for many different
- recordings.
