- It seems all four Devonsquare albums have been issued on CD.
-
- After going crazy over the Devonsquare album "Bye Bye Route 66"
- (recently someone here asked about 'If You Could See Me Now' from that
- album) I went looking for their back catalog. The previous 1988 album
- "Walking On Ice" was released on CD but it out of print; I was able to
- locate a cutout copy via a search service.
-
- The first two albums, "Devon^2" and "Night Sail" were issued on vinyl
- by a local (Portland, Maine) company called Blind Date records.
- They're out of print too, of course, but an ad in Goldmine got me in
- touch with a Maine dealer (who went to school with band member Herb
- Ludwig!) and he sold me vinyl copies of both albums for a very
- reasonable price. I was =very= happy to complete this excellent
- collection.
-
- Imagine my surprise, then, when the above search service contacted me
- to say they had located the first two albums, combined, on a Japanese
- CD! It just arrived (Night Sail: Village Green/Pony Canyon (JAPAN)
- PCCY-00029) and the sound quality is SUPERB! It cost an arm and a leg,
- and a 3 month wait ... but it was worth it.
-
- Anyone interested in my vinyl copies of the first two albums, drop me
- a line.
