- I would like to study Johnny Hodges tone and stylistic approach
- to ballads, but I do not know what CD reissues to look at.
- Although I know his greatest work was with Duke Ellington, I
- didn't expect that the brief length of big band solos would
- provide me with enough opportunities to listen to his playing
- style. I know that some of the recordings of the group he led
- after leaving Ellington are now available, but I don't know which
- to choose. I would sincerely appreciate any help, and if you
- would email suggestions. Thank you.
