- Sounds like a boot; I've been burned by sound quality of boots from
- that era (what kind of home recorders did people have to tape off the
- air back then?). I'd pick up the existing CDs from CBS Sony for now
- and wait for Cadence reviews. Of course, every time I wait, and a
- good review shows up, Cadence is sold out :-(

-
- The MOSAIC Taylor/Candid box includes this and similar material. It
- might be worth saving up for the MOSAIC box.

-
- Yes--they were originally 2 LPs, then repackaged as double LP set. I
- haven't heard these particular ones (I'm holding out for a CD reissue),
- but I've heard other duets by these two, and it should be great music.
- Snake Out is one of Waldron's best compostions (I have at least 3 versions
- of it).

- >David Murray 4tet "Live at Ocean Club" Col.1&2 w/ L. Bowie (!!) India
- >Navigation 1032
-
- One of the best Murray albums. Originally 2 LPs from the same concert,
- they edited one cut and put it all on a single CD. The Murra/Bowie
- front line is great, and Murray's soprano sax (the only recorded track
- I know of) on Bechet's Bounce is worth the price of the CD alone.
-
- >Lester Bowie "No. 1 & 2" w/ Rosco M/Jarman/Favors 8/67. Nessa 1
-
- Essentiall the ARt Ensemble of Chicago before they added a drummer
- (if Moye can be called by such a commonplace term!). I personally
- prefer most of the later AEC material.
-
- >Mal Waldron 5tet: "Git Go" live w/Woody Shaw/Rouse/Blackwell SoulNote 1118
- > "Seagulls of Kristiansund" w/Shaw/Rouse SN121148
-
- Both from the same Village Vanguard gig; both great. If you want to get
- only one, go for SEAGULLS since it is about 10 minutes longer and has
- SNAKE OUT and the uncharacteristically moody (but wonderful) Waldron
- title composition.
-
- >George Adams/Don Pullen 4tet "earth Beams" Cameron B. Timeless 147
-
- One of the best of the Timeless Adams/Pullen quartet releases--it
- includes the first recording they did of BIG ALICE and SATURDAY NIGHT
- IN THE COSMOS. But the two Soul Note LIVE AT THE VILLAGE VANGUARD releases
- should get priority over this one.
