- Well, let's see...
- As far as I know, The Beatles never did "Rhythm of the Rain", not even in
- the Get Back sessions, where they did every other song you could imagine...
- Interestingly enough, though, I think somebody did a remake of it which
- included a line from "Rain" by The Beatles at the end!
- As far as Greatest Hits, yes, there are a few on LP, like:
- 20 Greatest Hits (British & American versions differ)
- 1962-1966 (a/k/a red album)
- 1967-1970 (a/k/a blue album)
- A Collection of Beatles Oldies
- Also, several countries, like Germany and Australia compiled G.H. of their
- own. However, there aren't any G.H. on CD (except for some inferior
- quality ones from Japan), even though the red & blue albums were supposed
- to come out over a year ago.
- Past Masters Vols. 1 & 2 are kind of like G.H.s because they generally
- include the singles, but there are certainly ones missing from them,
- because they're on other CDs.
- Does this help you or not?
- "Hey Jude" is on Past Masters 2.
-
- What I'd like to see, really, is like a 5-CD or so box set, with every CD
- close to 80 minutes, of Beatles Greatest Hits, with every track remixed
- for stereo, with the possible exception of _Abbey Road_ tracks.
- I think someone, like George Martin, or Lewisohn, or me for that matter (!),
- should be allowed to go in and remix them all. The stereo mixes are not
- always that great, but for some reason people think there's something
- sacred about The Beatles and they can't be touched these days. That's
- insane. If it were any other group, such a set would've been out years ago.
