  34. This seemed like a good spot to mention a new chain of stores around the
  35. Chicago area, Funcoland.  If you shop here in the right frame of mind,
  36. it can be an enjoyable experience.

  38. First, pick up a price listing (don't assume the game you are looking for
  39. will be heavily discounted).  Then check off the games you are interested,
  40. and take it to the counter and see what they have in stock.

  42. I picked up a total of 8 games for under $100 (granted, older Sega and
  43. original Nintendo).  Games like Joust for Nintendo, and Forgotten Worlds
  44. for the Genesis were finds at $12.  I picked up other Nintendo games that
  45. I've never seen around in the stores for years (Popeye, Donkey Kong, Donkey
  46. Kong Jr, Hogan's Alley ($7, reason to use the light gun again)).

  48. Their prices on newer games are attrocious, so don't look for bargains there.
