- Well, on Eltanin we had a similar sort of thing happen. It was mages vs.
- warriors, thieves vs. clerics, monks vs bards, etc. Eltanin has an arena so
- this made it so that the deaths were not "real" and you didn't loose any
- equipment. I thought it was a kinda neat idea, but it never really caught on
- and has since ceased. I used to play on an LP mud (Tsunami) that had regularly
- scheduled events such as this (it was called Class Wars), except that the
- whole mud participated, rather thatn each class choosing a champion like they
- did on eltanin. Essentially, the player file was not saved during the war on
- Tsunami, so the effects were similar to the arena area. The idea of a class
- war is kinda fun. If it is a regularly scheduled, well planned and executed
- process, it hurts noone (except maybe some egos).
