- I had the opportunity to observe one of those Micro World Championships here
- in Vancouver. It turns out that the operators-programmers prepare for their
- opponents just like Grandmasters. Knowing what lines each machine plays in
- certain openings and than trying to set up their own machines. Mr. Hirsch of
- Mchess fame does not believe in this and lets his programm play whatever
- opening happens to come along. Therefore his programm has a distinct
- disadvantage in such short tournaments.
