- I submit that the basis for stating that Fischer is not as good as he
- was has been provided not only in Benjamin's article, but also
- Dzindzihashvili's in _Chess Life_ and Ree's in _New In Chess_.
-
- I am interested to know if there are any dissenting opinions in the
- ranks of GMs. Of course, everybody agrees that he is still quite
- strong. Why such the furor over the statement that a 20-year layoff
- might prove a little detrimental (as evidenced by the games)?
-
- And, if there are no GMs who disagree with the notion that the
- 49-year old Fischer is tangibly weaker than the 29-year old Fischer,
- does that mean anything or are they all deluded? Just wondering.
-
- (Let's keep this at the level of chess moves and games, please).
