  21.    Apparently there are no penalties for talking about whatever
  22.    comes to mind in any news group, but usually it's kept to a
  23.    minimum, as people are generally considerate.  It would be
  24.    okay if you argued about chess, but you do not.  The fact that
  25.    Fischer is part (a very small part) of your discussions is
  26.    meaningless.  It is no more relevant than discussing urology,
  27.    as Kasparov has (presumably) a penis.

  29. 2. When replying to Mr. Pope you state, "your hobby is chess
  30.    ...my profession is arguing."  If you really are a law
  31.    STUDENT, as you have written, then your profession is
  32.    NOT arguing - not any more than Mr. Pope's profession
  33.    is chess.  Your implication that chess is a "hobby" to
  34.    someone as strong as Mr. Pope shows a certain naivete.
  35.    I have never known any serious players who consider
  36.    their chess playing and studies to be a hobby.  GM Benjamin,
  37.    IM Ginsburg, and probably a good many others who have
  38.    replied to you are indeed professionals.

  40. Hey, it's okay if you want to argue about chess.  However,
  41. if you just want to argue about the meaning of meaning just
  42. to practice sophistry, I would suggest that you go somewhere
  43. else to do it.

  51. Nimzoindian, I'm thinking about switching to it.  What are 
  52. your results against players lower, equal, and better than
  53. you?  What are some of the practical problems with the defence?
