  14. As I read the newsgroup there are many questions concerning a particular
  15. position.  Most people will go with the conventional 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6
  16. 3. Bb5 a6 4. Ba4 Nf6 5 O-O etc...  Mortals like myself require a
  17. chessboard to analyze a position.  I don't know if anyone has tried to do
  18. this in the past, but I have created an ASCII chessboard with some examples
  19. below.  I hope that people will use it to ask questions in the future.
  20. PLEASE direct all comments, problems, suggestions for improvements to
  21. miklas@remus.rutgers.edu.  Cut and save the board below, and see what
  22. you think of the 2 examples.

  61. IMPORTANT: VIEWING A POSITION

  63. When I made this chessboard, I found that it fit perfectly on 24 lines.
  64. This may result in the board being clipped if you are on a conventional
  65. monitor and are attempting to view a position from inside your mail
  66. reader.  If this is the case, simply output to a file, and cat it.
  67. If you're lucky enough to have a Sun, Next, or the like, then this is not
  68. a problem for you.  I don't believe there are any post-1980 terminals out
  69. there (besides maybe cash registers or TRS-80's maybe) that have less
  70. than 24 line monitors.

  72. MAKE SURE there are no blank spaces/lines at the end of the board if you're
  73. going to cat it.  i.e.
