  16. The nearest I can remember was _Mercenary_, a 70s UK-designed game that was
  17. taken over by Fantasy Games Unlimited for its second edition.  It covered
  18. 1494-1560 and was big on things like your expensive armies becoming obsolete
  19. with new inventions.

  21. There was also a game _Holy Roman Empire_ in an early _Wargamer_, but again,
  22. I think it stopped before 1650.
