- THE FANTASY TRIP is loads of fun: too bad you can't find it anymore.
- Expanded from MELEE and WIZARD, two of Metagaming's microgames, it is
- basically an uncomplicated GURPS set in the fantasy world of Cidri.
- Three books, ADVANCED MELEE, ADVANCED WIZARD, and IN THE
- LABYRINTH, present the rules. Metagaming also published one module,
- TOLLENKAR'S LAIR, and several Microquests for the system.
-
- Characters and monsters alike possess three characteristics: Strength
- (ST), Intelligance (IQ), and Dexterity (DX). ST doubles as hitpoints,
- IQ determines the level and number of skills/spells that one may
- learn, and DX, after modification, determines a character's ability to
- hit an opponent with a weapon or spell.
-
- The thing that I liked the best was that it was a minimalist sort of
- system; one could generate characters/monsters quickly and more time
- was spent roleplaying than number-crunching. If you want more
- information contact me at ksoutor@unlinfo.unl.edu.
