- Wasn't the US Coast Guard funded for years by tax dollars from the general
- fund? This was paid mostly by non-boaters. As a boater I'm happy that
- the tax is no more but I can't say its unfair to me that I pay money
- into a general fund, even if it doesn't increase the Guards' allocation.
- Wouldn't it take quite a few years of taxing us boaters to repay Uncle
- Sam for Coast Guard service of the last 40 years or so? Then the Govm't
- also does a lot of sea charts, at a loss I might add.
