  13. Mark San Soucie seems to prefer a wide shoulder separated by a 
  14. white line.  I don't, BECAUSE the white line keeps cars off.

  16. At least around here, there's so much gravel, chips of glass &
  17. other trash over that line, that I can't ride there for fear of
  18. flats.  If the lane is wide to the left of the line (or if there
  19. is no line) some of the cars will randomly sweep off the trash.

  21. When I'm riding there, they keep further left - they don't run
  22. into me.  (I like to assume a cyclist is as much to be avoided
