  10. I have a 55 Chevy car.  It's a Bel Air with a stock 235 engine, and a
  11. powerglide transmission.

  13. Until the other day, this car ran perfect.   I had come home from the store,
  14. and put the car into reverse to back it into place, and the car went nowhere.
  15. I can put the transmission INTO reverse, but it just doesn't move (engage?)  It
  16. as though it's still in neutral.  The car runs fine in drive (hi and low), and
  17. shifts just fine.
  18. So,  my question is, what could possibly be wrong with the transmission? 
  19. Anyone out there with ANY ideas?
