  11. I have a 78 International Scout II with a 345 V8, Holly 2010 carb, and 
  12. Prestolite distributor that backfires through the carb when hot. This is a
  13. problem that goes away for a while but always returns. Do far I have:

  15.     Rebuilt the heads - compression is OK.
  16.     Replaced ALL vacuum hoses - 22" and steady at idle.
  17.     Replaced the distributor, wires, coil, and plugs.
  18.     Rebuilt the carb twice.
  19.     Tried 10 BTDC, 5 BTDC (correct) and TDC timing.
  20.     Paid a mechanic to replace the electronic control module in the
  21.     new distributor. This seemed to work for three weeks but it could
  22.     be a coincidence.

  24. The result of this is a beautifully working engine except for this !@#~$%^&*
  25. carb pop. I am running out of ideas (and money). Any suggestions would be
  26. appreciated.
