-
- It is the second feature film by director Hal Hartley, the first being the
- rather wonderful, "The Unbelievable Truth". "Trust" is similar in
- style to that film, and stars the same lead actress (Adrienne
- Shelley) but is less "light" and more cynical than its predecessor.
- Mind you, I still love it. Hartley has a unique style that has to be
- seen to be appreciated - it's hard to describe. His films (which he
- also writes) have a fascination with wordplay that make the films
- worth sitting through more than just the once.
-
- I suggest you hire (if you can find it) "The Unbelievable Truth" first,
- then "Trust". The latter is available on Republic Pictures Home Video.
- It's also on laserdisc.
-
- Hartley's new film, completed quite a while ago, is "Simple Men", which
- should be showing in the US by now.
-
- Robert Burke, who stars in both "Unbelievable Truth" and "Simple Men",
- took over from Peter Weller as Robocop in the forthcoming (still!) Robocop
- III.
-
-
- >Did it ever come out in the theaters?
-
- It did here in Australia... :-)
-
-
- Hope this info helps, and I hope you find and enjoy the movies.
