- I saw this movie a few years ago and, like your wife, stopped watching it
- before the end. The male friend who watched it with me continued viewing it
- but mostly to see what happened. Unlike your wife, however, I don't think I
- was offended. The violence, though explicit, was never really condoned
- since it was perpetrated by the thief, who had already been established as a
- horrendously grotesque character. The violence was included to emphasize
- his corruption/decadence, not to glorify violence against children or
- torture. I was, therefore, not offended.
