just a warning:  i went to see AFGM last night.  all reviews aside, we
were incredibly annoyed by the fact that the sound and picture were
out of synch.  we obviously weren't the only ones who noticed, since
there was laughter at some of the more obvious points.

afterwards, i went and complained to the manager.  he apologized, and
told me that they have been having a lot of problems with this movie.
he has heard of similar problems at other theaters.  apparently, they
have had engineers check their projection facilities to the point of
counting frames, but nothing has worked.  i think he said that they
have contacted the studio.  but he did say that he thought it unlikely
that the studio (castle rock/columbia, i think) would recall all their
prints and reprint at this point.

if/when i get up the gumption/energy, i'll be sending letters to
castle rock, columbia, century park 12 (the theater in redwood city,
CA where i saw it), syufy (the theater's owner), and local papers.

in any case, if you are planning on seeing this movie, you might want
to wait a while.  there's always the possibility that something gets fixed.
