- CHAPTER ONE: CHARACTER CREATION
-
-
- IA. SPECIES
-
- The first thing you will need to determine about your
- character is his or her species. There will probably be only one
- or two Gallifreyan Time Lords in your group, and one of these will
- undoubtably be the "owner" of the group's TARDIS. Additional
- characters are called "Companions" or "Assistants".
- In the Doctor Who television programme, most companions,
- about 93%, were human. Other companions species included Alzarian
- (Adric), Traken (Nyssa), and Trion (Turlough). Your Game Master
- may allow you to create several other types of characters. Several
- other possible alien types from the Doctor Who television program
- are described in this volume, as is one alien from the Marvel
- Doctor Who graphic novel Voyager. Alien characters should be
- humanoid or have the ability to appear human. In general, it is
- easier to interact in Earth-based adventures, especially
- historically based ones, if your character at least appears human.
- Appendix I describes the creation of android characters. The
- standard rules assume that androids and robots, such as K-9 and
- Kameleon, are equipment and plot devices rather than free-willed
- characters. Before creating an android character, you should
- consult with your Game Master.
