- I want to confirm the "pre-opening" of Toon-town!
-
- On Sunday, the 27th, my wife and 6 year old son were getting off the train
- as the sneak preview was being announced. She and he were therefore in the
- first group let into Toontown. They rode the roller coaster and then came
- back to the hotel room to get me and the baby. (They knew I would be VERY
- upset and jealous!) According to cast members (and some suit dressed types)
- she talked to, this was the first such pre-opening. Toon-town was open from
- 11 to 5 that day. The previous posters descriptions were accurate. It
- is an area for the smaller children, something that augments FantasyLand
- rather well.
-
- How brand new was it? Well, while standing in line at the roller-coaster,
- my son found a piece of metal in the garden. I looked at it and it was a
- piece of reinforcemnt bar, probably from the construction of the concrete
- fence. Considering how obsessively neat Disney is, that peice can't have
- been there too long. I told him to keep it as a unique little souvenir.
