  11. Like Paul Callahan, I read fewer books than many of you who have posted.
  12. Also, like him, I read very few "non-serious" books, genre fiction, etc.

  14. Still -- I answered "yes" to a mojority of the "biblioholic" questions.

  16. A good friend of mine likes to tell a story about when she was a kid.  
  17. All of her sisters were out of the house, and her father wanted to get 
  18. rid of her -- so that he could (how shall I put this) be alone with
  19. her mother for a while.  To accomplish this, he gave her some money,
  20. and told her to go buy something with it.  She returned in five minutes
  21. with a new book.

  23. This is the same woman who used to sleep with The Norton Anthology, when
  24. I was married to her.
