- My mother, when I was punishing her with my early musical
- taste on our victrola, had a charming habit of misunderstanding
- the lyrics and, upon being corrected, saying, "Oh. I like it
- better my way." The best of these, I think, was her version
- of Sly & the Family Stone's "It's a Family Affair" -- "It's
- a Family of Bears." She thought it sweet but odd that I
- would retain my fondness for Goldilocks so long.
