- The rabble who see this group as either elitist or infuriatingly
- populist may be amused by the Dec. 26th *Economist*. In an article
- entitled "The Good Network Guide" you will find, after explanations of
- Yale's Skull and Bones, the Freemasons, the Communist Party, and other
- elitist organizations, a section on USENET and Internet. The
- *Economist* observes that "USENET ... was always populist" and that
- while Internet's speciality is sharing software and services, "USENET
- specialises in argument." The article concludes with the thought: "In
- the high-tech world, if you're not on the net. you're not in the
- know."

- of Hodder & Stoughton's bowdlerization of Enid Blyon's "Famous Five"
