  52. Anime America is coming to the Westin Hotel/Santa
  53. Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA from June 25-27,
  54. 1993. This not-to-be-missed event for all fans of anime and
  55. manga will feature a large dealers' room, a 16mm and 35mm
  56. film room, three 24-hour anime video channels, artists'
  57. autographs, artists' panels and much, much more!

  186. Anime America will feature a 9900 sq. ft. dealers' room
  187. devoted primarily to anime and manga. Tables are $120 apiece
  188. and come with 2 memberships each. Limit of 5 tables per
  189. dealer.

  192. AnAmTV
  193.  
  194. AnAmTV will feature three 24-hour anime TV channels. Tracks 1
  195. and 2 will feature all of your favorite anime, movies, OAV's
  196. and TV shows. In addition to anime, Track 3 will periodically
  197. provide con scheduling information and broadcasts of panels
  198. and special events. We are hiring a technician from the
  199. video company that installed this brand new system, so
  200. we will have a crystal clear signal throughout the hotel.
  201. We have received permission from USMC, U.S. Renditions and
  202. Streamline to air their videos on the closed circuit system,
  203. but we encourage you to go down to the video theaters to
  204. to take advantage of the big screens and surround sound. We
  205. will be publishing a full schedule of our video program as we
  206. assemble it. Comments and requests are most welcome. Please
  207. note that copying of video from the closed circuit system
  208. will not be permitted. Disconnecting the cable from the
  209. television set causes the central computer to stop cable
  210. service to the affected room.

  213. Film Track

  215. Anime America will feature a 16mm and 35mm film room. For
  216. anime on the big screen in an air conditioned, acoustically
  217. designed theater, this is the place to be! We have been given
  218. access to Tezuka Productions and Streamline's entire film
  219. libraries and have a special series of three 3-D anime shorts
  220. from ACC Production. The 3-D films will be premiered for the
  221. first time in the United States at Anime America! Technical
  222. details on this new technology will follow in a separate
  223. news release.

  228. A 4 ft by 4 ft half panel is $12.50.  More than 6 half
  229. panels, please send inquiries to the Art Show Coordinator.

  237. Doujinshi exhibit and sale:
  238.  
  239.      Members of Japan's largest fan publishing convention,
  240. Comic Market, will provide quantities of some of the most
  241. sought after fan publications available. Were you
  242. to attend Comic Market you might have to wait in
  243. line for hours to have the opportunity to buy just one of
  244. these books. Comic Market will man a table in the dealers
  245. room and will have an ample supply of doujinshi for sale,
  246. having solicited from all the top doujinshi circles in Japan.
  247. Additionally, Comic Market staff will be available to discuss
  248. convention registration with interested American would-be
  249. publishers. They will have English versions of rules and
  250. registration forms.

  252. Cel painting workshop:
  253.  
  254.      Anime America will host four cell painting workshops.
  255. Experienced fan cel painters, whom you've seen in the artists
  256. ghetto in previous Cons, will instruct interested attendees
  257. in cel painting technique. Materials will be provided by
  258. Anime America with a minimal workshop fee.

  260. Urusei Yatsura/Maison Ikkoku Cel Auction:
  261.  
  262.      A long-time fan of Kitty Animation, Kasumi Sawatari,
  263. will be auctioning off his Urusei Yatsura and Maison Ikkoku
  264. cel collections through arrangements with Anime America.
  265. Members of Anime America staff viewed the collection in Tokyo
  266. on December 28th. The collection consists of 56 cels, including two rare Lum
  267. closeups, closeups of Ran and Ben-ten,
  268. a close up of Kyoko from Maison Ikkoku and an impossible-to-
  269. find harem scene from one of Moroboshi Ataru's dreams!

  271. Devilman Cel Auction:
  272.  
  273.      Go Nagai, creator of Devilman, Mazinger Z and Cutey
  274. Honey, could not attend Anime America this year but instead
  275. donated 16 rare cels from Devilman 2. The cels include two
  276. setups with backgrounds! There are two shots of Shirane
  277. getting one of her wings blown off and three close shots
  278. of Devilman. Don't miss this auction as these cels came
  279. straight from Dynamic Productions' archives.
