- Anime America is proud to announce the confirmation of Monkey Punch,
- creator of Lupin the 3rd and Character Designer for ACC Productions, as a Guest
- of Honor for Anime America. Monkey Punch has given us a detailed biography,
- which we will pass along as soon as the rest of the FACE Directors return from
- Japan next week.
-
- Accompanying Monkey Punch will be Mr. Sugaya, President of ACC
- Productions. Mr. Sugaya will bring with him three new animated shorts, all of
- which were produced in 3-D. The 3-D process uses 35 mm film to record two
- frames, polarized for viewing through polarized glasses. The glasses ensure
- that the correct eye sees the correct frame. This is a technique similar to the
- one used in live action films seen at Disney's Epcot Center and other high-tech
- presentations. The difference is that these short films are animated, the first
- to use this technology. Anime America will be the first U.S. showing of these
- films!
