  12. Having heard this weird cancellation of the reservations for AA, I did
  13. a little more researching myself..

  15. I called the Westin, who confirmed a cancellation of reservation of
  16. AnimeAmerica. I asked who authorized it, and they said that the person to
  17. contact is (under initials J.M.)...and gave me a phone number where to reach.
  18.  
  19. I contacted the phone number to reach not J.M., but a popular bookstore
  20. and item shop, that J.M frequently goes to. However, they did say that I
  21. probably got this number from the Westin because it was the HQ of another
  22. con that is in the Westin..

  24. I got all this information just by calling in as a concerned person.
  25. It seems that the person who was to manage this could not be contacted
  26. via the phone number given, but rather the head of another con was contacted.

  28. Could it be that the Westin confused AA with another con, contacted the wrong
  29. people, and a) the Westin cancelled in the confusion  or b) an unknowing
  30. third-party who was believed authorized cancelled c) an unsavory combination
  31. of both?

  33. In either case, it seems some big faux pas in communication occured, not some
  34. elaborate dirty trick.
