  14. FACT: There are two conventions.
  15. FACT: Not everyone that is going to one is going to the other.

  17. Considering these two facts, I assume people want to make an opinion of
  18. which con is better, and go to the con of their choice.

  20. So how does one consider which con to go to? The perfect staff is not one
  21. of my credentials, because I don't think there is such thing. The GoH list
  22. can be quality and/or quantity (I assume people hate this logic), but if
  23. someone you want to meet is at one con, why not go to that one? I, for
  24. one, want to AX' 93 provided Rumiko Takahashi goes, and Mikimoto.

  26. SO what other credentials are there for each convention? One of mine happens
  27. to be : IS IT FUN? AT last AX '92, I went to kareoke, midnigt madness, met a
  28. lot of friends around the country and around the world..ANother happens to be
  29. a ggod dealers' room, and I haven't been disatisfied at the previous
  30. convention, except for the fact that they are crowded (A lot of people seem
  31. to agree that a good dealers' room is a healthy benefactor.)

  33. What detracts me from a convention? Anime politics..I ought to know that
  34. politics has destroyed a lot of my fun..the C/FO, advanced fans vs.
  35. beginning fans, even w/in Cal-Animage, and now AA vs AX. Now, big flames about
  36. anime won't go away too often, but it's time to see beyond these
  37. politics.  It's a matter of what is going to satisfy your pleasure, whether
  38. you have enjoyed your previous experience at AX '92 and AC '91 and expect
  39. even more, or feel you hated it and take your chances at a smaller con.
  40. It's up to you to look beyond the opinions of "A-person-on-this-staff-sez"
  41. or "There's a rumor-that-[meaty gossip]" and make your own decisions..
