  17. thing to do. In the US, the conservation movement has recently been allied
  18. with the left, but this is an artificial side-effect of the two-party system.
  19. The progressive right (big business) and the progressive left (labor unions)
  20. are clearly allied against the conservationist right (Audubon, etc..) and
  21. the conservationist left (Greenpeace, etc).
