  30. This is certainly true;  after all, as a whitewater rafter (who rows
  31. an oared boat) I expect to stay in rec.boats.paddle rather than 
  32. rec.sport.rowing.  But I will not quibble with the name -- although it
  33. might make more sense to have a rec.boats.{flatwater|whitewater} or
  34. some such, I think that the rec.sport.rowing name implies crew and
  35. other racing events.  And rec.boats.paddle has never razzed me for
  36. using oars on my raft!
