  23. not be created if there is no existing traffic on the topic, but let's
  24. stick to the facts about the current proposal.

  28. Oh, yes it does.  Conversion from mailing list to newsgroup is a
  29. standard path for a topic to take as it grows.  I would expect many
  30. now reading NATIVE-L or NATCHAT and having access to news to start
  31. reading the topic via news instead of mail.

  33.    What we want here is soc.culture.native, first, and possibly other
  34.    groups at some later date that we really can't talk about at this
  35.    point, because we don't even have the first group.

  39. There are two mailing lists which have been proposed as candidates for
  40. newsgroup promotion and gateway.  That means two newsgroups.  That
  41. implies a hierarchy, something like what I suggested earlier:

  44.     s.c.<your-favorite>.talk or .misc
