  26. It just grates on my nerves. I'm sure many of them agree.
  27.     The term native just won't fly. *Everyone* is native to somewhere
  28. and there will be problems with that term.

  30.     The readers of news.groups are not your average run-of-the-mill
  31. reader. It is necessary to look at how the average user is going to view
  32. the names. How many people will know that aboriginal means original people
  33. or will even bother to look it up? I know many people that will equate this
  34. name with aboriginie and think the group is about Australia and ask about
  35. kangaroos.

  37.     Personally I'd throw a curve ball and use something like
  38. soc.culture.first-people.xxxxx or just soc.culture.first.xxxxx. It will
  39. make the average person think first and maybe even read the group :-).
