  42. the Application Visualization System (AVS), the industry-leading
  43. multi-platform interactive scientific visualization package
  44. originally developed by Stardent Computer.  "Scientific Visualization" means
  45. converting numeric data (medical imaging, seismic, fluid dynamics, etc.) into
  46. 2D and 3D colored analog picture representations that give researchers greater
  47. insight into the patterns present in their data.  The company is small (<40
  48. people), well-capitalized, sales are growing rapidly, and we are already

  52. with documenting newly-written libraries from scratch (not just modifying
