- Seth:
-
- To the excellent advice of Gregg Mack in 6295, I would add only one
- thing:
-
- Make sure you TEST-RIDE ANY BIKE YOU EVEN **THINK** ABOUT BUYING.
-
- Despite precision measurement and mass production, few things are more
- idiosyncratic than a bicycle. So once you've made certain that all the
- weights and measurements and angles are as they're supposed to be, take
- it out and see how it feels under you...and see how it feels doing the
- kind of riding you're going to do.
-
- Department stores won't let you do this, so do as Gregg says and forget
- 'em. Likewise, if you find a bike shop that won't let you do test rides,
- keep on walking until you find one that does.
-
- Happy cycling.
