- Every now and then the FDA makes a foray against the health food
- industry. This past summer they seized some Evening Primrose oil from
- a manufacturer claiming it was an "unapproved food additive".
- Regrettably, the courts upheld the seizure. The legal status of
- supplements is murky. If the FDA wants to and the courts go along they
- could probably ban everything that isn't a recognized vitamin or
- mineral. If you care about these questions write your Congress critter
- and/or Presdent-elect Clinton.
