- LJ=8>Hi Janet. My name is Lynne Jackson from Londonderry High School in
- LJ=8>Londonderry, New Hampshire. I saw your name in some mail referring
- LJ=8>other librarians to chat with you so I thought I would send this note.
- LJ=8>Do you know of any high school librarians that are on k-12 I would love
- LJ=8>to chat with them?

- Hello Lynne. I run a high school library in Auckland, NZ. We have a roll
- of 1500 co-ed students and we are busy automating our library. We're
- using the OASIS library management system and plan to go to automated
- circulation and enquiry in term 2 1993 - ie May 1993. It's taking us
- ages to key in the catalogue details but we will end up with an
- excellent catalogue for the students to use. I am also getting a modem
- during January (school holidays) so am hoping to fiddle around with it
- before school starts back Feb 3. I'm also getting CD-ROM facilities
- although as yet have no programmes. Any suggestions/recommendations? at
- present I have only limited room in our workroom for all this technology
- so can only have a few students using K12. I haven't quite worked out
- how to do this which is why it is so interesting reading this area and
- getting ideas. I'm definitely not going to allow vague calls for pen
- pals though. I'd like some structured reasons for using this - I've
- already had some ideas from a teacher in the South Island of NZ which
- I'll take up as well.
-
- Cheers, Liz Pprobert
