- Hi Ken,
-
- DKB> I'm pretty uncomfortable with the idea of "banning" anyone's
- DKB> speech.
-
- Is denying FT's participation in K12Net really going to ban
- his free speech? Is K12Net the last bastion of expression?
- Can FT not go elsewhere? Is asking a distruptive student in
- a classroom to be quiet a judiciable action under the guise
- of freedom of speech in the USA? It seems to me that people
- throw up this free speech thing without giving much thought
- to what it really means.
-
- DKB> Frank Topping sounds angry and nearly incoherent, but
- DKB> unless he says something actionable, why take action? And if
- DKB> action is taken, let it be along customary lines
- DKB> of action for libel -- by some person who believes he or she
- DKB> has been libeled.
-
- Children who are disruptive in the classroom are usually asked
- to leave. Adults who are disruptive, even in bars, are thrown
- out. Frank is not an educator and has NO idea of what school
- teaching is about or what it involves, has grandiose ideas about
- how he is going to save America's youth from themselves. I don't
- think Frank is even a parent. He finds a lot of what youth do,
- even the mere expression by an 18 year old that they might go for
- a drink after the prom, disgusting and vile.
-
- DKB> Otherwise, my grandmother's advice still sounds good to me:
- DKB> Don't dignify it with an answer.
-
- I consider Frank to be the Jimmy Swaggart of telecoms.
