  24. I have been using Lee Canter's Assertive Discipline for the
  25. past four years.  I began teaching in 1972 and have always had
  26. good displine. I use Canter's program consistently in my second
  27. grade classroom with major success.  I believe the reason that I
  28. have so much more parental support is the consistent use of the
  29. program.  Parents know that all of my students will be treated
  30. with the same consequences, the same due process.  They know that they will be
  31. made aware of any problems as they develop.  There are no
  32. surprises.  Everyone appreciates the positive reports home.
  33. And most important the program forces its true users to focus
  34. on the positive things that happen during the day instead of
  35. the negatives.  Let's face it, in an academic world where we as
  36. educators are always hearing through the media what we do wrong instead of what
  37. we do right, it is easy to fall into the habit of being
  38. negative ourselves.  Using Lee Canter's program has made my
  39. job more enjoyable.
