  10. Is there any way to retrieve the size in pixels of the width of a
  11. character for a given font? I'm writing a terminal/curses style
  12. emulation using the bulletin board widget and need to know the logical
  13. size of a column.

  15. Example: my font is 5 pixels wide per character, therefore I need to 
  16. make the BB widget 400 plus border size pixels to work with 80 logical
  17. columns.
