  15. I have encountered the following problem with the Motif Window Manager
  16. (mwm):

  18. If I specify the position of an application in the resource file as 
  19.  
  20.      Application.x: 50
  21.      Application.y: 50
  22.  
  23. the application shell will not appear at position (50, 50) but
  24. somewhere else. Actually, mwm will select a new position for
  25. the application each time the application is invoked. This
  26. behaviour of mwm is very confusing for the user of the application,
  27. who expects the application window to appear always at the same
  28. place.

  30. This problem will not occur if I use the Open Look Window Manager
  31. (olwm) instead.
  32.  
  33. Is there any way to force mwm to display an application shell window
  34. at a determined position (except from the -geometry option)???
