- Good day,
-
- The agency for which I work has an NCR 850 with a SCSI DAT tape drive
- connected to it. The tape drive has the following written on the side:
- NCR
- CLASS 6091
- MODEL 2001
- SERIAL 46-19774809
-
- We use this tape drive to back up our system once per week.
- I would like to use cpio with with the "-o[...]CV" option which requires
- a capacity value specified in bytes.
-
- The question this:
- Using cpio, how many 512 byte blocks will fit onto a
- 365 foot DAT tape in the above mentioned tape drive.
- Or more generally how many bytes per foot will fit onto the
- tape using cpio?
-
- Please email replies to me.
-
- Thanks.
