- I had this strange problem this morning after I started my IIsi:
- The system started up normally, but when I tried to run any application,
- (except ZTerm) I received an Error -39 message, which means "End of File;
- no additional data in the format". When I checked the program's
- Get Info dialog, any of them didn't have a default size, and application
- memory was set to zero. I managed to start Disinfectant, and it told me
- that most files had a damaged resource fork(I didn't scan all, just the
- first ones). I tried Norton Utilities emergency disk, and it found
- nothing wrong. Then I restarted the computer and most programs were
- working perfectly and Disinfectant found nothing. However, Norton
- Utilities on my hard disk stopped working, but a working copy of it
- appeared in the AutoDoubler resuced items folder, and BunchTyper (program
- for changing type and creator of multiple files) stopped working. Oddly,
- Disinfectant and Virusdetective were slower than normally when I scanned
- the disk, and Norton DiskLight showed some writing operations while virus
- detectors were scanning the disk.
- I also noticed that problem had only appeared in files
- compressed with AutoDoubler (I'm using version 1.0.7i). I noticed this
- because the System Errors application, which was in Apple menu still
- worked.
- Coul this be an AutoDoubler bug or something else? Ideas?
- Please respond before ZTerm and MacLayers go down :-)
